To transfer waypoints to and from the Garmin units, you must connect the GPS to your computer using the gps to PC connector cord. Simply attach the connector cord to the back of the gps and plug it into the serial port on your computer. If you do not have a serial port on your computer, you will need to use a serial port to USB converter cable.
Once you've connected to your PC, you'll need a program to store and tranfer your waypoints.The program we use to transfer waypoints to and from our Garmins is EasyGPS.

The next step is to open a free account with Geocaching.com
Once you're a member with Geocaching, any waypoint you want to save will be saved as a file that looks like this:
Next, simply open EasyGPS and click and drag the happy face gps file into the Easy GPS box. It will look something like this:
To transfer these files to the GPS, attach the Garmin to your PC with the connector cable,and click the "send" button at the top of the page. Or to transfer waypoints that you've saved on your GPS to your PC, click "receive".
